On June 22, ENV organized a meeting for members of Ho Chi Minh City’s Wildlife Protection Volunteer Network. Fourteen volunteers participated in the meeting and all enjoyed a presentation given by a volunteer about pangolins.

On June 21, ENV participated in the German Society for International Cooperation’s (GIZ) Brown Bag Lunch. The Brown Bag Lunch included the personal participation of the GIZ Country Director, and is the first event of GIZ’s contribution for German Action Week for Sustainability 2013. Today’s event was organized to make GIZ a Wildlife Safety Zone

Following in the footsteps of ENV’s Hanoi crew, the Ho Chi Minh City team hosted a wildlife trade exhibit in Hoang Van Thu Park yesterday.       

On June 18, ENV organized a wildlife trade exhibit at the Hanoi Vocational School, and a bear protection exhibit in Thanh Cong Park, Hanoi.    

Defendants in two wildlife crime cases have been handed prison sentences, ENV has just learned from courts in central Vietnam.      

Last week ENV began a campaign cooperating with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) shops in Hanoi. The objective of the campaign is to convince TCM shop owners to not prescribe rhino horn medicine to patients.    

On June 15, ENV is officially launching the first “Wildlife Blitz,” a great event gathering expats and volunteers with lots of interesting activities. National and international volunteers will join hands to conduct business inspections, report violations, and ensure compliance with wildlife protection laws. This will be done by inspecting restaurants, bars, and other targeted businesses
