In the first case, on April 19, a man called ENV’s Wildlife Crime Hotline to report some young wildcats on the sandbar in the middle of the Red River in Hanoi. He said he found them while doing some agricultural work at the site.
The event was the first wildlife protection awards ceremony held in Vietnam, and was a special occasion to step back and look at the progress of biodiversity conservation in Vietnam.
Yesterday, on April 17, members of CITES, the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), and ENV met in Hanoi to discuss illegal online wildlife trade. WCS presented information from their recent study on the matter.

Education for Nature – Vietnam (ENV) has produced 2,000 puzzles promoting bear protection, which will be distributed to children in bear farm hotspot communities as part of ENV’s “End Bear Farming” campaign.
