ENV and GIZ Brown Bag Lunch for Wildlife Protection

On June 21, ENV participated in the German Society for International Cooperation’s (GIZ) Brown Bag Lunch. The Brown Bag Lunch included the personal participation of the GIZ Country Director, and is the first event of GIZ’s contribution for German Action Week for Sustainability 2013. Today’s event was organized to make GIZ a Wildlife Safety Zone committed to not consuming wildlife products.

Wildlife Safety Zones are part of ENV’s campaign focusing on corporations. Wildlife Safety Zones see firms partner with ENV to help reduce demand for wildlife by encouraging their employees to get involved in environmental conservation and not consume wildlife.

At today’s Brown Bag Lunch Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Vice Director of ENV, delivered a presentation on wildlife consumption and coordinated a discussion about the wildlife situation in Vietnam. There were 153 GIZ’s staff in Vietnam signed pledge cards and committed not to consume wildlife products. ENV appreciates GIZ for being a partner for the event, and for their ongoing efforts to safeguard Vietnam’s wildlife and natural environment.
