Today was an eventful day at Hanoi National University of Education, with hundreds of students joining us at a wildlife trade exhibit to answer quizzes and share ideas on wildlife protection.    

Yesterday, more than 200 freshman students at the Da Nang University of Education enthusiastically joined a hot discussion session on wildlife consumption in Vietnam.    

One of our key campaigns is dedicated to bringing an end to the killing of rhinos. Our primary target group is the upper-middle income class, the biggest market for rhino horn in Vietnam. To that end, we have launched a Wildlife Safety Zone, calling on business people and officers to say no to rhino horn.

In celebration of Vietnam National Bear Day, today our team organized a bear exhibit at HCMC University of Natural Resources and Environment.  

The Vietnamese Government committed to phase out bear farming across the country back in 2005, and since then, we’ve seen some great results. After eight years’ continued efforts, the number of bears in captivity has more than halved, from 4,500 in 2005 to around 2,000 today.
