Decree 179/2013/ND-CP on the regulations for penalties for violations against environmental protection

Accompanying Decree 160 on the protection of endangered species in Vietnam, Decree 179/2013/ND-CP on the regulations for penalties for violations against environmental protection, was issued by the Government. Vietnamese news on hpcustoms.gov.vn reports that Hai Phong authorities have exposed an elephant tusk trafficking case. Whilst checking some suspicious looking parcels of cow horns, Vietnamese Customs in cooperation with the Scanner Inspection Team uncovered 21 elephant tusks.
