Another Macaque Freed!

  On May 3, ENV’s Facebook fan-page received a message about a woman in Hanoi City who wished to give her pet macaque to the authorities. The macaque’s owner said that she had owned the monkey for ten years, but recently its temperament had changed, becoming ‘angry’ and ‘violent.’

Speedy macaque rescue!

On Tuesday April 16th, an ENV staff member informed the Wildlife Crime Unit that a Rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta) was being illegally held in a restaurant in Cao Bang province (northern Vietnam). The monkey was confined in the restaurant’s warehouse and constrained by a chain around its neck.
