This morning, more than 200 high school students in Phuc Tho district (a bear farming hotspot) joined ENV’s fun bear protection program.
As there are about 174 bears kept in local people’s houses in Phuc Tho, ENV has organized a lot of activities here, such as a monthly bear survey and various awareness-raising activities in public spaces. Off the back of the program held this morning, ENV plans to establish “Bear protection warrior” clubs at the school to enable the students to take action and speak out against the bear bile extraction industry, to finally eliminate this cruel and illegal practice which has been conducted in their own hometown for many years.
