Ho Chi Minh City Environmental Police have just confirmed to ENV that 5 otters have been successfully rescued. Since October 2013, ENV has been following a young man who appears to sell otters on the internet.
After months of surveillance, today ENV received intelligence that some animals were to be transported via train from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi in order to be sold. Immediately, ENV passed the information on to the authorities, who managed to catch the subject red-handed. Thanks the swift actions of all involved, 5 live otters have now been rescued.
