Elephant tusks found hidden in parcels of snails

Vietnamese news on laodong.com.vn reports that yesterday, Vietnamese Customs uncovered yet another major elephant tusk trafficking case in Hai Phong. To avoid arrest, traffickers had hidden elephant tusks in parcels of snails. Authorities discovered 2.4 tons of tusks in the packages and confiscated them for further investigation.

This is not the first time traffickers have tried to conceal the illegal goods inside parcels of snails. At the beginning of this month, Hai Phong authorities exposed a similar case where criminals had attempted to use the same tactic.
