Over the weekend, ENV cooperated with two universities in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of the Food Industry and Saigon University, to conduct awareness-raising activities. Two wildlife trade exhibits were set up and visited by many students, who came to learn about wildlife conservation and share their messages to rhino consumers,

Police report having seized approximately a kilogram of rhino horn pieces from a traditional medicine doctor in Binh Phuoc province. The enforcement action resulted from information provided by an informant to ENV through the National Wildlife Crime Hotline on the 25th of November.

Last Friday, ENV, in cooperation with Morris Garages (MG) Car Company, installed six rhino standees in their showroom which bear the slogan: “You are a smart consumer for saying “No” to rhino horn”.  

This morning, an informant called us to report a langur being kept in a coffee shop in Quang Nam province. ENV promptly contacted and worked with local environmental police and the Forest Protection Department, which checked the premises and found the animal – a grey-shanked douc langur (Pygathrix cinerea).    

We had a fun and busy weekend with awareness raising activities in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. On November 14, our team in Ho Chi Minh cooperated with RMIT University’s CAN club & drama club to host a wildlife trade talk entitled “Score a goal for wildlife”.  

Yesterday, ENV, in cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, displayed a rhino information stand in the entrance of the Ministry office.    

Last week, 114 members of iZi English club in Ho Chi Minh City had a fun weekend practicing English whilst learning about wildlife protection with a talk entitled “Score a goal for wildlife”.  

Last month, our bear team was out and about in Phuc Tho district, Hanoi, with a series of awareness-raising activities for local residents about bear protection.
