The police had initially tried to pull the truck over because of a missing plate number, but when the truck driver didn’t stop they were forced to follow in pursuit. During the chase, two tigers were thrown out of the vehicle, anesthetized but still alive.

The large cats were later identified as endangered Indochinese tigers. The mammals were taken to Pu Mat National Park for care, and the police continue to hunt for the poachers.
