The Phuc Tho Department of Education and Training in Hanoi has agreed to support ENV in bear conservation efforts, by enabling ENV to work with schools to teach bear lectures in extracurricular programs for students.
This program will be officially conducted after the Lunar New Year holiday at the end of January and beginning of February, in Phuc Tho and Phung Thuong secondary schools, where almost all the students are the children of bear farmers. This initiative is geared towards raising awareness and changing attitudes in this bear farming hotspot for the long-term, as wildlife education is at it’s most effective when it begins at a young age.
