Vietnamese news on baohatinh.vn reports that local police in Ha Tinh province exposed a wildlife trafficking case. Drawing on intelligence, they intercepted a suspicious bus on the way from Dong Nai to Ha Tinh and found 25 pangolins weighing nearly 100 kilograms. All the hauls were confiscated for further investigation.
In the last fortnight, two pangolin trafficking cases have been discovered. Last week we highlighted the success of Phu Yen police in capturing an ambulance trafficking 49 live pangolins. Pangolins are protected under CITES (Appendix II) and Decree 32/2006/ND-CP (Group IIB) under Vietnamese law.
