Major elephant tusk trafficking uncovered in Hai Phong port last week

Vietnamese news on baohaiquan.vn has reported that last week, Hai Phong Customs exposed a major smuggling crime in transit in Hai Phong city.

Drawing on intelligence, the Customs Inspection Team checked parcels of alleged snail shells and found more than two tons of elephant tusks and marine turtle shells. All the goods were confiscated for identification and further investigation. 



As a hotspot of wildlife smuggling in Vietnam, Hai Phong has discovered many major cases since the beginning of the year. Local authorities in Hai Phong city have showed their great efforts to reduce and intercept many wildlife illegal trafficking cases to Vietnam.
