Today was an eventful day at Hanoi National University of Education, with hundreds of students joining us at a wildlife trade exhibit to answer quizzes and share ideas on wildlife protection.
They were even more interested in a talk by journalist Doan Hoang, one of the Vietnamese delegates who recently returned from the fact-finding trip to South Africa.
With his stories, Doan Hoang highlighted the plight of the world’s remaining rhinos due to the intensive poaching to meet the demand of markets in countries such as Vietnam and China. He encouraged students to contribute their ideas and spread the message to “say NO to rhino horn” amongst their friends and relatives. With the power of word-of-mouth, we do hope the message can reach further.
