Four long-tailed macaques rescued

In May 2013, ENV received an email from a British tourist reporting two long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis) being kept in cages outside a catholic church in Tien Giang Province, Southern Vietnam. ENV transferred the information to local FPD to handle the case.

On June 7 it was confirmed that the priest of the church voluntarily transferred not only these two macaques but also two more that he kept in another place. The macaques were released into the wild of Dong Thap Muoi Ecology Nature Reserve on the same day.
