Illegal bear bile advertisements removed

In March 2013, ENV’s field officers recorded 18 facilities in Nghe An Province, Central Vietnam, displaying bear bile advertising sign boards.

ENV sent warning letters to all owners of these facilities. Correspondence was also sent to local authorities asking them to have the sign boards removed, as it is illegal to advertise bear bile.

This week, local authorities have confirmed that all of the 18 sign boards were removed. Even though it took two months for a response, the result was good.
