Red Shanked Douc Rescued


An infant red shanked douc (Pygathrix nemaeus) was transferred safely to the Endangered Primate Rescue Center – Cuc Phuong National Park in Nothern Vietnam on May 28th, thanks to a call to ENV’s hotline.

 


A resident in Quang Tri Province, central Vietnam, bought the monkey and decided to transfer it to the rescue center.


The monkey is a female infant, weighing 0.6Kg. It is in poor health due to its capture and captivity, but should recover at the rescue centre.
