On May 3, ENV’s Facebook fan-page received a message about a woman in Hanoi City who wished to give her pet macaque to the authorities. The macaque’s owner said that she had owned the monkey for ten years, but recently its temperament had changed, becoming ‘angry’ and ‘violent.’
Unsure of whom to give the monkey to, she was referred to ENV. Upon receiving the information, ENV put the monkey’s owner in contact with the Director of Soc Son Wildlife Rescue Centre, who has arranged to transfer the macaque.
It has been reported that the monkey is in good health, and weights 10 kilos.
