Vietnamese customs officers have transferred three people to police custody after finding 2.15Kg of suspected rhino horn hidden in their luggage. This finding comes three days after more than 7Kg of rhino horns were seized at the Ho Chi Minh City airport.

The recent rhino horn seizures coincide with intergovernmental talks in Pretoria to stem the illegal flow of rhino horns and wildlife contraband from South Africa to Vietnam.
In 2013, the Vietnamese government issued a directive banning all specimens of rhinos from being traded, exported or imported.
