When local police raided the house of one of the men’s mothers they found five more macaques and a frozen tiger. The mother said that she was going to sell the tiger for 700 million VND – approximately $35,000.

This is the second tiger that has been confiscated within one week. On January 15th, a frozen tiger was seized in Bac Kan province. The man in possession of it had reportedly purchased the tiger in Hanoi and was going to use its’ bones to produce traditional medicine.
