Yesterday, information provided by ENV resulted in the seizure of a frozen tiger from the business of a man in Bac Kan province.
The man had reportedly purchased the tiger in Hanoi and had planned to produce tiger bone traditional medicine. Police also recovered an illegal firearm leading to further inspection of the man’s home (results unknown). This case is another example of how law enforcement, working with ENV’s Wildlife Crime Unit and the National Wildlife Crime Hotline can result in tangible results.
Last month, raids in central Vietnam brought about following an ENV investigation resulted in more than 10 tons of marine turtles confiscated, the single largest seizure of marine turtles in history.
