Last week, Vietnamese Customs uncovered yet another serious pangolin trafficking case in Hai Phong city. Drawing on intelligence, the Customs Inspection Team checked a suspicious container and found cartons of de-scaled pangolins weighing nearly six tons beside that of frozen snappers. All the goods were confiscated for further investigation.
Since the beginning of this month, Hai Phong authorities have discovered many other major wildlife trafficking cases. Traders often attempt to traffic wildlife through Hai Phong port, requiring great vigilance from local Customs in patrolling and managing the port to help stamp out wildlife crimes.
